TUBITAK Open Science Policy Accepted

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Open Science Policy was discussed and accepted at the meeting of the TUBITAK Board of Directors on 14.03.2019.

The framework of TUBITAK's Open Science Policy consists of the publications produced or supported by TUBITAK and the management, storage, archiving, compilation and digital protection of research data. With the adoption of the Open Science Policy, the Green Road Open Access obligation has been adopted. This policy was approved in 2019 in pilot programs and in 2020 in all support programs.

TUBITAK is committed to providing continuous open access to scientific publications and research data. For this purpose, the publications produced from the projects supported by TUBITAK have been imposed on the TUBITAK Open Archive (https://arsiv.ulakbim.gov.tr/index), which serves as Aperta (https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.tr/). It is recommended that research data of these publications should be open access.

TUBITAK has prepared “Research Data Training Portal in (https://acikveri.ulakbim.gov.tr/) where sample data management plans are shared to assist researchers in data management and sharing.

Turkey Research Area (TRA), are tried to be in compliance with the European Research Area. This project will increase the visibility and impact of scientific publications produced in our country. With the opening of the data, it will be possible to conduct scientific studies in a much more efficient and efficient way, to avoid data repetition, to remain consistent within the data and to access the data much faster.

Wishing to increase the awareness and adoption of the Open Science applications which aim to make the scientific studies more transparent and more sharing with the developing technology;
