The number of items in the Istanbul Gelişim University Institutional Open Access Repository (DSpace@Gelisim) h
Established in 2018, DSpace@Gelisim ranks as the 7th institutional open-access repository in Türkiye. The collection within DSpace@Gelisim continues to grow and expand. Having entered the top 100 of the TÜBİTAK "Harman" (Turkish Academic Archive) system by the end of 2018, our repository held the 72nd position as of October 2026. See: https://harman.
The IGU Institutional Open Access Archive accepts a wide range of materials—including articles, books, conference papers, catalogs, theses, reports, presentations, audio recordings, and videos—produced by the university’s academic and administrative units as well as its students, provided they have undergone the necessary academic and administrative review. Articles are verified against international publishing policy databases, such as SHERPA/RoMEO, before being added to the archive. Open Access archives are known to enhance the visibility of institutions and authors, increase citation counts, and contribute to a university’s standing in webometric rankings. We extend our gratitude to the Rectorate, the Office of the Secretary General, our academic and administrative units—with special thanks to the Department of Information Technology—as well as İdeal Kültür Publishing and the Department of Library and Documentation for their contributions to the enrichment of our archive.
